Description

Position Overview

The Regional Finance & Business Operations Manager acts as the strategic financial co-pilot to the regional operations leadership team. This role bridges the gap between high-level finance and ground-level operations, translating complex financial data into actionable commercial strategies to maximize regional profitability.

This is an analytical and leadership position, not an administrative one. It exercises functional oversight over the Shared Services team, which entirely insulates this manager from day-to-day transactional processing, invoice coding, and data entry. This setup allows the manager to focus exclusively on forward-looking, high-impact business analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Partnership & Financial Performance

Collaborate with operational leaders to analyze customer profitability, review pricing structures, evaluate business cases, and drive regional budget and forecast accuracy. This includes managing regional budgets, analyzing financial performance and trends, preparing monthly P&L reporting, and supporting site managers with financial insights.

Governance & Risk Gatekeeping

Serve as the regional custodian for financial compliance, ensuring operational sites strictly adhere to company approval processes, internal controls, and risk protocols. This involves overseeing regional financial and operational controls, reviewing exception reporting from Shared Services, and addressing internal audit findings.

Functional Oversight of Shared Services

Providing functional oversight to the Shared Services team, improving workflow efficiency, and ensuring reporting requirements are met.

Operational Optimization & Asset Management

Look beyond the balance sheet to evaluate physical business drivers, including property utilization, asset management, capital expenditure (capex) requests, and productivity trends. This also includes reviewing customer and operational profitability, helping maintain customer rate structures, and supporting capex requests.

Logistics & Reporting

Reporting Structure

The role reports directly to the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager while maintaining a strong indirect, collaborative relationship with the Operations General Manager, Regional Manager, and local Site Managers.

Travel

Regular travel is required to operational sites within the assigned region and to the Head Office.

Performance Review

Conducted annually.
