We are hiring a hands-on Quality Engineering Lead to oversee quality practices across our product portfolio. Based at our Singapore headquarters and reporting to the CTO, you will lead an established team supporting operations in Singapore, Australia, Ireland, and the United States.

Our products include desktop, on-premise, and emerging cloud-based solutions. You will define the overall quality engineering direction while introducing modern SaaS testing, cloud infrastructure, automation, performance validation, and production health monitoring practices.

This role suits an experienced technical leader who can remain actively involved in engineering, develop team capability, and work effectively with internal teams, external vendors, and technology partners.

Key responsibilities

Leadership and Team Development

• Manage, coach, and develop the existing Quality Engineering team.

• Establish clear engineering practices, quality standards, and ownership expectations.

• Create a consistent quality strategy covering all products and delivery stages.

• Advance the organization from predominantly manual testing towards automated, code-driven quality practices.

Test Automation and Engineering

• Design and implement scalable automation frameworks across desktop, on-premise, and SaaS products.

• Build automated coverage for React frontends and Golang or C++ backend services.

• Develop maintainable test code across unit, integration, API, system, and end-to-end testing layers.

• Assess and introduce appropriate tools, frameworks, and engineering approaches to improve coverage and delivery speed.

• Use cloud platforms to provide scalable, reliable, and cost-conscious testing environments.

Cloud Testing and Operational Monitoring

• Partner with the DevOps team to embed automated testing into continuous integration and deployment workflows.

• Use Docker and modern infrastructure practices to create temporary, production-representative test environments.

• Introduce SaaS-specific testing and monitoring practices for cloud-hosted applications.

• Support proactive detection of service degradation, failures, and operational risks.

Performance and Reliability

• Validate API behaviour, service contracts, fault tolerance, and system reliability.

• Develop performance, load, scalability, and stress-testing programmes.

• Identify capacity constraints and reliability risks before they affect customers.

• Ensure both cloud and on-premise products can support expected usage and growth.

Stakeholder and Partner Collaboration

• Work closely with Product Managers and Software Engineers to convert requirements into effective quality plans.

• Communicate quality risks, test outcomes, and reliability metrics clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Serve as the technical point of contact for vendors and partners involved in testing, integrations, or product delivery.

• Coordinate expectations, dependencies, and technical discussions across internal and external teams.

Competencies and Skills

• At least five years of experience in Quality Engineering, Software Engineering, Test Automation, or a related discipline.

• Strong knowledge of SaaS products, distributed systems, and modern cloud architectures.

• Demonstrated experience managing or mentoring an established engineering team.

• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Golang, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.

• Experience testing applications or services developed in Golang.

• Familiarity with observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK Stack.

• Experience designing automation frameworks using Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or comparable technologies.

• Practical experience with Docker and containerized development or testing environments.

• Strong understanding of REST or gRPC API testing.

• Experience with performance-testing tools such as k6, JMeter, or equivalent platforms.

• Proven ability to integrate automated tests into CI/CD workflows.

• Experience working with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

• Ability to work independently, evaluate complex problems, and deliver results in ambiguous environments.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical risks, quality indicators, and engineering trade-offs.

• Confidence managing technical discussions with vendors and external partners.
