Position Overview
Click Global Talent is recruiting a skilled Project Estimator to join a dynamic team supporting construction operations. This full-time, remote position, based in the Philippines, is vital for the successful planning and execution of various construction projects. The Project Estimator will be responsible for developing precise cost estimates, contributing to competitive bidding strategies, and ensuring projects are delivered within budget and scope.
Position Objective
The primary objective of the Project Estimator is to provide accurate, comprehensive, and timely cost estimates for construction projects. This role aims to support the organisation's growth by securing profitable contracts through well-researched and competitive bids, while also identifying potential cost efficiencies and risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Estimation and Analysis
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for all phases of construction projects, including materials, labour, equipment, subcontractors, and overheads.
- Analyse blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and incorporate contingency plans into estimates.
- Research and analyse market trends, historical data, and supplier pricing to ensure estimates are current and competitive.
Bid and Proposal Management
- Collaborate with the project team to develop comprehensive and competitive bids and proposals.
- Review and interpret tender documents, ensuring all requirements are met in the estimation process.
- Present estimates and proposals to leadership and stakeholders, clearly articulating assumptions and justifications.
Collaboration and Documentation
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and suppliers to gather necessary information and clarify project scope.
- Maintain organised and accurate records of all estimates, bids, and project-related documentation.
- Participate in post-bid reviews to identify areas for improvement and refine future estimation processes.
Value Engineering
- Identify and propose cost-saving opportunities and alternative solutions without compromising project quality or scope.
- Contribute to value engineering initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements & qualifications
Competencies and Skills
- Exceptional analytical and mathematical abilities with a strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in construction estimation software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, CostX) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, codes, and regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex information clearly.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting and collaborate effectively with a distributed team.
Key Selection Criteria
- Proven experience (minimum 3-5 years) as a Project Estimator or similar role within the construction industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate and competitive estimates for a variety of construction projects.
- Experience working on projects aligned with international standards, particularly those relevant to Australia-aligned operations, is highly advantageous.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement.
