Position overview
Location: Philippines (Remote). Region focus: Singapore (business hours). Work schedule: Day shift (Singapore/Manila time). Employment type: Full-time.
We are looking for a highly skilled InsureMO Middleware Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be the technical backbone connecting insurance core systems with digital channels. You will work closely with Singapore-region stakeholders to design, develop, and maintain middleware solutions using the InsureMO (Insurance Middle Office) platform.
The ideal candidate is an integration expert who understands the nuances of the insurance lifecycle—from policy issuance to claims—and can leverage InsureMO's microservices architecture to deliver high-performance, scalable APIs.
Key responsibilities
- Platform integration: Design and implement end-to-end integration flows between external front-end systems (e-commerce, mobile apps, portals) and the InsureMO platform.
- API management: Develop, test, and manage RESTful APIs, ensuring seamless communication across InsureMO's "API Factory" and "Product Factory."
- Customization: Use Groovy, Java, or SQL to create custom backend assets and jobs that address specific business requirements beyond standard platform capabilities.
- Workflow orchestration: Build and optimize complex business logic, batch processes, and underwriting rules within the InsureMO middleware layer.
- Technical support: Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting for middleware-related production issues, ensuring high availability and system reliability.
- Collaboration: Work directly with Singapore-based stakeholders and cross-functional teams (architects, BAs, and QA) to translate business needs into technical specifications.

Requirements & qualifications
Required skills & qualifications
- InsureMO expertise: Proven experience as a middleware engineer with deep proficiency in the InsureMO platform.
- Technical stack: Strong background in Java or Groovy development. Expertise in RESTful APIs, JSON, and OpenAPI (Swagger) documentation. Solid understanding of microservices architecture and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Domain knowledge: Previous experience in the insurance sector (Life, P&C, or Health) is highly preferred.
- Database skills: Proficiency in SQL and experience with data persistence and transformation.
- Communication: Excellent English communication skills to effectively collaborate with a regional team in Singapore.
