Description
HR Manager (Australian Market Specialist)
Role overview
As the HR Manager, you will be the primary custodian of the employee lifecycle for the supported workforce in the Australia region. While you are based in the Philippines, this is not a local HR role; it requires deep, practical knowledge of the Australian HR landscape. You will act as a strategic partner to the Australian leadership team, ensuring compliance with Australian labor laws, managing payroll integrity, and fostering a high-performance remote culture.
Key responsibilities
1. Australian regulatory compliance & governance
- Ensure all HR practices align with the Fair Work Act 2009, National Employment Standards (NES), and relevant Modern Awards.
- Draft and update Australian employment agreements (full-time, part-time, and casual).
- Manage employee relations, including performance improvement plans (PIPs), disciplinary actions, and terminations in accordance with Australian "Small Business Fair Dismissal Code" or general protections.
2. Payroll & benefits administration
- Oversee or execute end-to-end payroll processing for the Australian entity.
- Manage superannuation contributions and ensure compliance with SuperStream requirements.
- Administer leave entitlements (annual, personal/carer's, long service leave) as per Australian statutory requirements.
- Liaise with the ATO (Australian Taxation Office) regarding Single Touch Payroll (STP) if required.
3. Talent acquisition & onboarding
- Manage the recruitment pipeline for Australian-based or global remote roles.
- Conduct structured interviews and coordinate reference checks.
- Facilitate a seamless "Day 1" onboarding experience that reflects the company's Australian culture.
4. Process optimization
- Audit and refine existing HR workflows to ensure maximum efficiency in a remote-first environment.
- Maintain the HRIS (Human Resources Information System) with 100% data integrity.
Why this role?
This is a pivotal position for a seasoned professional who enjoys the complexity of international HR. You will have the "keys to the kingdom" regarding HR processes, reporting directly to Australian leadership while enjoying the flexibility of a fully remote Philippine base.
