Financial Accountant
Position overview
The Financial Accountant supports the end-to-end financial operations function in a collaborative team environment. This role is hands-on and focused on delivering accurate financial records, meaningful analysis, and reliable reporting that supports strategic business decisions. The role works closely with leadership and provides key operational support to the Director/Owner.
Key responsibilities
- Gather and monitor financial data to maintain timely and accurate reporting.
- Organize internal audit activities, including verification of sales and purchasing invoices.
- Analyze financial trends to support company strategic decisions.
- Prepare end-of-financial-year reconciliations for external tax accountant review.
- Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions across Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet accounts.
- Prepare, reconcile, and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing data from multiple financial systems.
- Apply a basic working understanding of Australian GST compliance requirements.

Requirements & qualifications
Essential requirements
- 2 to 3 years of experience as an Accountant or in a similar role.
- In-depth understanding of business bookkeeping procedures.
- Solid knowledge of accounting regulations.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong time management and prioritization abilities.
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- CA or CPA qualification is required.
- Advanced knowledge of software systems, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Xero.
