Position Overview

Click Global Talent is seeking a dedicated full-time remote Estimator (Demolitions) to join an Australian-aligned organisation. This pivotal role involves the preparation and submission of demolition project quotations and tenders. The primary focus will be on reviewing plans, drawings, and project specifications, completing accurate quantity take-offs, identifying the full demolition scope, and preparing competitive and profitable pricing.

The Estimator will also provide administrative and general support to the Director, assisting with tender coordination, project documentation, and other tasks to ensure the estimating and quoting process remains organised and efficient. Projects will range from residential and partial demolitions through to commercial strip-outs, school projects, structural demolition, and detailed internal demolition works.

Position Objective

The successful candidate will be able to work independently, understand demolition plans and scopes in detail, and produce accurate, commercially sound, and timely estimates. This role requires an organised, responsive individual comfortable providing administrative and general support to the Director. This is an important role in helping the organisation increase the number of projects it can quote and tender for, improve turnaround times, and secure more work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review architectural drawings, plans, scopes, and specifications to identify the complete demolition requirements.
  • Perform accurate quantity take-offs for demolition works.
  • Prepare realistic labour, plant, equipment, and waste allowances.
  • Develop competitive project pricing while maintaining appropriate profit margins.
  • Identify project risks, exclusions, assumptions, and potential variations.
  • Prepare and submit quotations and tenders for demolition projects.
  • Tender for larger projects generally ranging from $25,000 to $300,000+.
  • Review builder documentation and identify missing or unclear information that may affect pricing.
  • Maintain accurate estimating records, pricing information, and tender documentation.
  • Assist with quotation, tender, and project administration.
  • Provide administrative and general support to the Director as required.
  • Assist with coordinating tender information, deadlines, and follow-ups.
  • Work closely with the Director to clarify scope, pricing requirements and tender deadlines.
  • Help improve estimating turnaround times and the overall efficiency of the tendering process.

Requirements & qualifications

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience in construction estimating, preferably within demolition, strip-outs, building, or related construction works.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Experience completing quantity take-offs and developing project cost estimates.
  • Understanding of labour, plant, waste disposal, and other costs associated with demolition works.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify scope gaps, risks, and potential variations.
  • Commercial understanding of competitive pricing and maintaining project margins.
  • Good organisational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Proficient with relevant estimating, construction, or spreadsheet software.
  • Comfortable working remotely and communicating with an Australian client.
  • Organised, responsive, and comfortable providing administrative and general support to the Director.
