Position Overview

The organisation's IT Division is responsible for delivering and operating enterprise technology platforms, including core systems, cloud infrastructure, data platforms, and digital capabilities. The company currently operates in a hybrid technology environment with a number of legacy systems, some of which are planned for migration to the cloud. The Division has a strategic focus on expanding cloud adoption and advancing AI-driven capabilities, enabling secure, scalable, and efficient delivery of applications across AI, data, and middleware environments through modern engineering and DevOps practices.

Reporting to leadership within the IT or Infrastructure team, this is a remote position aligned with Singapore dayshift.

Position Objective

The primary objective of this role is to design, implement, and operate scalable DevOps capabilities across the technology landscape. As a senior individual contributor, you will establish automated, secure, and scalable delivery pipelines supporting AI, data warehouse, and middleware platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pipeline & Framework Design: Design, build, and manage CI/CD pipelines across applications, data, and AI workloads from the ground up.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Develop and implement robust infrastructure-as-code capabilities (Terraform or equivalent) to ensure scalable setup.
  • Data Pipeline Support: Support and optimize data pipelines, including SQL Server to Snowflake/Openflow ingestion.
  • Automation & Integration: Implement automated deployment frameworks for applications, APIs, microservices, and middleware platforms.
  • Version Control & Configuration: Establish Git-based version control strategies, governance, environment configuration, and secrets management.
  • Security & Compliance: Embed DevSecOps practices and explain security requirements aligned with industry standards such as ISO 27001, SOC2, PCI DSS, and internal policies.
  • Observability & Optimization: Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and observability solutions while troubleshooting and optimizing pipeline performance.
  • Collaboration & Documentation: Collaborate closely with developers, data engineers, and AI teams. Maintain comprehensive documentation and continuously enhance DevOps best practices and coding standards.
  • Operations: Provide critical system support, including out-of-hours support when required to maintain environment stability.

Experience & Seniority

  • We are seeking a senior engineer capable of designing scalable DevOps architecture independently from scratch.

Technical Competencies & Skills

  • Cloud & Infrastructure: Strong experience with AWS (AWS Certification required) and/or Azure.
  • Containerization: Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Data Platforms: Proven experience working with Snowflake and SQL Server.
  • CI/CD & Code: Strong proficiency with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins), Git workflows, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
  • Highly Advantageous: Exposure to AI/ML deployment pipelines.
  • Beneficial: Understanding of APIs and microservices.

Compliance & Security

  • Ability to articulate and explain security requirements such as ISO 27001, SOC2, or PCI DSS.
  • Familiarity with MAS TRM is a plus, though not required.

Soft Skills

  • Independence: Highly independent individual contributor who thrives with minimal supervision.
  • Communication: Strong presentation and communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Resilience: Ability to work well under pressure and navigate ambiguity smoothly.
