Role overview
As a Credit Control Officer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of a complex debtor ledger. - Review and manage customer risk profiles and credit limits in alignment with the credit policy.
- Ensure all credit decisions are backed by clear communication and meticulous documentation.
3. Dispute resolution & customer service
- Investigate and resolve non-payment issues by liaising with customers and internal operations/sales teams.
- Meet defined service level agreements (SLAs) for new account assessments and establishment.
- Provide a professional and empathetic approach to complex customer queries to ensure "issue resolution" rather than just "debt chasing."
4. Reporting & continuous improvement
- Provide clear reporting on aged debt, expected vs. actual cash receipts, and potential cash flow risks.
- Identify recurring billing issues and support improvements to the debtor function and internal accountability.
- Contribute to a team culture focused on continuous improvement and achieving team-wide goals.
Key outcomes
- Measurable reduction in aged debtors (DSO).
- Improved cash inflow visibility and reporting accuracy.
- Streamlined resolution of invoice disputes.
- Establishment of positive, collaborative relationships between the Credit and Sales departments.
