Commercial & Pre-Construction Manager
Position overview
Location: Philippines (Remote). Region focus: Australia (day shift on Australian time). Work schedule: Day shift (Australian time). Employment type: Full-time.
Core function
Act as the primary link between commercial stakeholder relations and operations to ensure:
- Proper job setup prior to site commencement.
- Risk mitigation through clean contract management.
- Accurate capture of variations and claims.
- Operational clarity for site teams.
Key responsibilities
1. Pre-construction control
Review estimator outputs, identify scope gaps, manage RFIs, and build final job packs/Scope of Works for contract negotiation.
2. Contracts & risk
Review head contracts to identify risks, negotiate terms, and ensure all subcontracts are executed before work begins.
3. Commercial management
Oversee monthly progress claims, track budget vs. completion, submit variations, manage cash flow forecasting, and follow up on payments.
Success metrics (3 months)
- Consistent and accurate capture of variations.
- Timely and professional submission of claims.
- Reduced administrative burden on senior leadership.
- Improved cash flow predictability.
