Description

Position Overview

Click Global Talent is seeking a highly detail-oriented and experienced Philippines-based Commercial Construction Estimator with direct experience supporting Australian commercial builders. This offshore, remote role will directly support an organisation's tendering process by managing documentation, performing precise multi-trade quantity take-offs, coordinating subcontractor packages, and preparing comparison schedules.

The successful candidate will possess a strong command of Australian building terminology, local trade divisions, and tendering practices. While this role provides comprehensive estimation support, final pricing, profit margins, risk allowances, and formal tender approvals will remain under the direct management of leadership.

This position offers a flexible hourly / Part-Time work schedule, with the potential to transition to Full-Time, aligned with Melbourne/AEST business hours.

Position Objective

To provide precise and comprehensive estimation support for the tendering processes of Australian-aligned commercial construction projects, ensuring accuracy in quantity take-offs, efficient subcontractor coordination, and thorough documentation management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Documentation Review & RFI Management: Analyze architectural, structural, civil, services, and consultant documentation to identify missing information, drawing discrepancies, and required clarifications. Assist in drafting tender RFIs as needed.
  • Quantity Surveying & Take-offs: Perform thorough, accurate quantity take-offs across all commercial building trade scopes using specialized software.
  • Tender Package Administration: Prepare, issue, and manage subcontractor and supplier tender packages via EstimateOne. Actively track responses and follow up with trade partners to ensure comprehensive scope coverage.
  • Data & Spreadsheet Entry: Populate internal estimating spreadsheets with accurate quantities, subcontractor rates, and tender data.
  • Quote Analysis & Scope Evaluation: Collate, review, and evaluate trade/supplier proposals. Perform detailed line-item comparisons to identify scope gaps, exclusions, qualifications, and pricing inconsistencies.
  • Programmes & Submissions: Develop initial construction work programs utilizing Microsoft Project. Complete tender schedules and required submission documentation using designated templates.
  • Document Control & Project Records: Maintain up-to-date document registers, subcontractor correspondence, and organized tender files.
  • Communication & Deadline Management: Work to tight Australian tender deadlines while keeping stakeholders updated on progress, risks, and outstanding information.

Requirements & qualifications

Key Requirements & Competencies

  • Experience: Proven track record working remotely for Australian commercial builders, with exposure to commercial refurbishments, fit-outs, childcare centers, sporting facilities, community buildings, and ground-up commercial projects.
  • Software Proficiency:
    • Advanced proficiency in EstimateOne for package distribution and subcontractor tracking.
    • Proficiency in quantity take-off platforms such as CostX, Cubit, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or equivalent.
    • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and MS Project.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Australian construction methodologies, material standards, trade scopes, and industry terminology.
  • Plan & Spec Reading: Exceptional ability to interpret complex architectural/engineering drawings, trade specifications, and tender documents.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with a professional tone when interacting with subcontractors and leadership.
  • Core Skills: Outstanding attention to detail, strong time-management capabilities, and the self-discipline to work independently across multiple overlapping tenders.
  • Work Setup: Reliable, high-speed internet connection and flexibility to overlap with Melbourne (AEST) business hours as required.
